One morning. Every four weeks. A world of difference.
Our volunteers deliver meals, share a chat and keep an eye on their neighbours. People who volunteer with us say it adds a whole new dimension to their lives.
Small commitment, big welcome
Members of the community who support us are crucial to how the service runs. Here's what a volunteer role looks like.
One run every four weeks
That's the usual commitment — a morning delivering a round of meals. You're welcome to do more if you'd like to.
Cover when life happens
Can't make your run? There are arrangements in place to cover those circumstances. Just let us know.
More than a delivery
For many clients you're the friendly face of the day. A quick chat and a check-in on how they're going is part of the job.
Three ways to get involved
Community volunteers
Deliver meals and other food services to clients across Ballina Shire. Most volunteers pair up for a run, so you're never on your own. Every bit of help is welcome.
Register interestCorporate volunteers
One of the best ways for your business to give back locally. Set up a Corporate Volunteer Programme with us — your team delivers meals on a regular run, and staff can also join our board of management.
Talk to us about your teamManagement committee
Bring your skills in governance, finance, community or food service to the committee that runs the organisation. A rewarding way to shape a service that's been going since 1967.
Express interest"It's the best part of my month."
Volunteers tell us the same thing: it's the people. The regulars who wait at the gate, the stories over the fence, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing someone's had a hot meal and a hello today.
Tell us how you'd like to help
No commitment yet — we'll give you a call, answer your questions and find a run that suits you.
